It's still May but, I feel like it is in the middle of summer last few weeks in Seoul. The weather is warm, perhaps little too warm. The humidity is kicking up little by little. It is already the season that calls for refreshing cold drinks with good portion of ice cubes, cool and breezy shades under big trees, some outdoor activities and a long vacation. How's your side of the world, by the way? You feel the same way? Or, perhaps your weather and conditions are totally different from what I have here. That's most of the case, I assume.
When this kind of season approached I often played with my greens. Well, I have to confess I've killed my greens several times 'unwilling' rather than "played". I admit that growing greens is a pretty advanced skill. Whether it is a big tree or a tiny herb, growing green requires good knowledge and caring heart. I am pretty sure I don't have much of either of them. I absolutely admire those good green thumb-ers.
Finally this year, my garden is going well. All my greens are still alive. Not just alive but also happily thriving. I am overjoyed in so many ways. I have grown mini greens in my little garden on the rooftop a few weeks now. Oh, boy! They surely grow. I've been watching them growing making new baby leaves here and there. It almost feels like I have new children. I am amazed how quick they get big every single day and how much joy I get out of simply adoring them. It truly makes my daily life more exciting.
Don't ask me what the names of those beauties are. I don't really know, but I know that they are incredibly gorgeous as well as delicious. I cannot touch the sad greens from the store any more. The taste of what you're growing is just out of the world! Eating salad is not any more something have to, but it quickly became one of the exciting habits.
One other thing I really enjoy nowadays is working surrounded by those greens. They truly calm me down and release my stress away! Knitting is already relaxing but knitting next to greens is just extra fabulous! I guess they affect my life so positively in both physically and mentally. I might get more pots of greens in coming season. Hopefully my hubby does not get too much jealous! ;)
Are you growing any greens? Would you like to suggest some? I am looking for greens that I can grow indoors so I admire closely. If you're not having any greens yet this is a just right timing. Choose something easy to grow and see what happens. I am pretty sure you will get hooked pretty instantly! After all, we are part of the Nature and have desire to be with greens, don't you think?
