The way this knitter deals with her knit failure

Time to release something not so pleasant. My Beekeeper cardi failed. Since I spent lots of time and energy on this I feel not so good to report the disappointment. I still remember the day I made the swatch for this piece many months ago. I was so~ excited! Not exactly sure where I went wrong but after I added one sleeve I realized it could NOT go further. The arm hole was too tight for my tiny arm.
Oh well, I guess it happens. It does. But I wish I could have noticed before I went this far. Anyway the UFO has been hidden in my secret box a while and today (finally!) I decided to frog it after so many thoughts after thoughts. Oh, mam... 2 strings were way hard to frog. So, I asked my free helper hubby. He wouldn't mind as long as I let him watch his favorites while he is helping this. We ended up watching new episodes of Games of Thrones while almost finishing the frogging. Couldn't be easier than this? I felt pretty bad the moment I started to frog but.. you know what? I felt great right after I got balls of the yarn back. Felt like I received a free new bunch of yarns.
So I ended up making a new swatch for a new project. Well, it was pretty hard to accept that hours of hours knitting didn't go anywhere but I guess it's a good learning process. This time I got to make the swatch with some serious care.
Hope your stitching is going well. Don't make a mistake like me. But even better, if you did move on without hesitation. Things happen and happen for some good reasons. Happy stitching, everyone!!

Anya,
Good for you! How is your hat going now? What pattern are you using? Hope you enjoy knitting better after you started over. When I knit something wearable…. I want it to be close to perfect. Well, I am not a perfectionist but if it does not fit why would I keep going, right? Anyway, have fun with your hat and let me know how it goes. Happy stitching!
I just had to rip back half a hat— not nearly as much as you!— but it reminded me that it’s better to start over than have a messed-up project you don’t like. :)
