Gift knitting made fast and eay: Hats
Share
This time of every year I start something ritual: Christmas gift knitting and crochet. I know many of you already started. I have one friend who starts Christmas gift knitting from the first day of the year. Yes, truly!
Unfortunately, I don't have many friends and family members who adore knitted gifts much so I usually end up with knitting a few gifts only. Wouldn't it be lovely if there are more people understand the beauty of hand-knitted gifts? I am wondering how's your side of the world. Here, in Korea, knitted pieces aren't much valued, sadly.
Anyway, this year, I am making some hats and socks for loved ones. I haven't decided which socks I am gonna knit but, hat-wise, I know what I am gonna do. Actually I already made this hat and I am planning some more! It's just perfect for any body at any age. I am saying it would make a perfect gif! This cable work is way easier than it looks so don't freak out if you're a beginner. To make it more interesting I am thinking of using some funky-colored yarns. What do you think? It would be too much? What color would be safe for most of recipients?
To give some variety, I am adding another hat for those who like somewhat light and easy look. This hat would go with any season if you're a hat person wearing hat year round. I personally like not-too-bulky lacey texture that can be breezy and at the same time nicely cozy. It is pretty versatile, right? The pattern is super easy so that you would memorize it in just a few mins: Your absolute go-to hat pattern!
So far I am working on those. I am pretty sure I will make many many more while I am travelling this month. Perfect travel knitting, btw! Easy, simple, free pattern that you must try, too!
So, are you preparing something for Christmas yet? What do you usually make and what makes the most popular knitted/ crocheted gift so far? Any thoughts?
